Wherefore be not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is. Eph. 5:17
Many times we do things in the name of God that look good, sound good, even feels right in trying to compromise or accommodate with the world, but they are not consistent with the will of God. At times we find such things meet popular acceptance but they have no spiritual fulfilment. Other times what we do even provoke hate yet we say its the devil resisting our work for God. Sadly many people don't take time to pause and enquire of the Lord's will in what they are doing.
The apostle Paul wrought the opening scripture to the church of Ephesian when they where experiencing difficult times of immorality and persecution. He admonished them not to be unwise. in saying this, He implored them that because of the badness of times, not to be unwise in being ignorant of their duties and being negligent of their souls, but to understand what the will of God is towards their duties and souls.
From this scripture we are drawn to understand that ignorance of our duty to the kingdom of God and negligent of the salvation of our souls, are the evidences of greatest folly; yet while an acquaintance with the will of God and care to comply with it, bespeaks the best and truest wisdom.
You can make God's will your wisdom. In Deut. 4:6, Moses says to the Children of Israel that the statutes and commandments he had given to the would be their wisdom and their understanding in the sight of the nations. You can apply God's word in your active life as your wisdom. When we become Born again, we are admonished not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Rom 12:2.
God's will is revealed in His word. To make God's will your wisdom you must be willing to study God's word and adopt it in your daily life. You need not worry whether you have the ability to understand it, for God has said in his word we have received the mind of Christ, 1Cor. 2:16; we are encouraged that we have received Spirit of a sound mind, 2Tim 1:7. Therefore you have all what is needed to make God's will your wisdom.
In everything you set to do, endeavour to apply God's word and soon you will realise your life is dwelling in the will of God. So make God's will your wisdom.
