And he called the multitude, and said unto them, Hear, and understand: Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man. Mat 15:10-11
One of the determining factors of framing your destiny is the mouth. When you fail to master the use of the mouth to your advantage, you will soon see your life going nowhere. Mastering the use of the mouth will channel your life into the destiny you have spoken.
In the opening scripture, Jesus lets us know that the defilement of a person is not by anything else, but the mouth. In saying this, He equally implied that a person is built up and purified by the words of his or her mouth. Out of the mouth proceed with things that determine the course of our lives. As a steering wheel is turned to change the course of the vehicle, the tongue in the mouth, speaks words that control the course of your life. If used well, you will see and live in your destiny.

Scripture says, and a tiny rudder makes a huge ship turn wherever the pilot wants it to go, even though the winds are strong. So also, the tongue is a small thing, but what enormous damage it can do. James 3:4-6 NLT. That little member in your mouth has an enormous responsibility in determining the course of your life. You must learn to use it rightly.
Many times, you regret speaking certain things, because you fail to control your tongue. These incidents may result in long time conflicts, which could be avoided if the tongue is controlled. You see, if you can control the mouth, you can control the whole body. Scripture says, for in many things we offend all. If any man offends not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole-body James 3:2. So how can one avoid offending in words?
Firstly, it is important to know that the mouth is an outlet of the heart. As scripture says, for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks, Mat 12:34, it is what comes out of the heart, through the mouth, that defiles a man. What comes out of the mouth is the fruit of the seed in the heart. Whatever you have stored in your heart will either make you or break you. If it is good, you will have good in your life as scripture says, "A man shall eat good by the fruit of his mouth: but the soul of the transgressors shall eat violence." Proverbs 13:2
Until the heart has the right content, the person will keep defiling himself or herself, by what he or she speaks. You must fill your heart with the word of righteousness that you may speak words that are consistent with the life God has for you. A life of victory and not failure.
So, when you have this word in you, speak it over your life that you may channel the course of your life to align to God’s will. Scripture says, "the mouth of the righteous speaks wisdom, and his tongue talks of judgment [justice]." Psalms 37:30. This wisdom is God’s word, so speak God’s word over your life. Train your tongue in speaking the right destiny for your life as you speak peace, truth, and all the fruit of righteousness. In doing so you will become the product of what you speak. Scripture says, "for by the words of thy mouth shall thou be justified, and by thy words, thou shall be condemned....", Mat 12:37. So, the use of your mouth is key to determining your status. Use it for good by speaking the things you want to see in your life.
Prayer
Dear heavenly Father, I thank you for your word. I pray my tongue speaks the wisdom of God that channels the course of my life. My life is on the course you have destined for me. In Jesus name, I pray, amen.
