PUT ON HIS GARMENT OF  RIGHTEOUSNESS.

Edited: Oct 6, 2017

And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a  man which had not on a wedding garment. And he saith unto  him, friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding  garment? And he was speechless. Mat 22:11‐12

It is a common practice in setting wedding banquets for the hosts to inform their guests

in advance about the dress code and colour schemes at the reception. In doing this, the hosts set out their requirements expecting their guests to fulfill them.

The opening scripture comes from the parable of the wedding, which Jesus used when teaching about the Kingdom of God. The king in the parable is God making a wedding ceremony, the kingdom of God, for His son Jesus.

God as the host invites His guests requiring them to dress up in a particular dress code, the garment of Righteousness, set to the standard of the son. As the host inspects his guests, He finds one without the rightful garment and asks him how he got in; but the guest was speechless.

Consequently, the host asks His servants to tie this guest hand and foot and throw him outside.

From this parable, it is important to note that our invitation to the kingdom of God is on God’s terms. We must be prepared to live in the kingdom of God by fulfilling that which God requires of us.

Many people come to God wanting things to happen on their terms and they end up disappointed when things don’t happen the way they wanted them to be.

They bring crooked, twisted inventions and they pray to God to bless their twisted inventions. This ought not to be so.

Righteousness is the fulfilment of expectations in agreement to the host. God who is our host, has called us to the Kingdom of God to comply with His arrangement. In his Kingdom He has called us priests and kings, he has called us overcomers, more than conquerors, healed in Christ, children of God and many more.

So, as those invited to the kingdom of God, we must be in agreement with the host to call ourselves as he calls us. To live life in agreement with God at all times that we are what God say we are. If you are sick agree with God that by the stripes of Christ you are healed. If you are depressed agree with God that the Joy of the Lord is your strength.

In so doing we are fulfilling the the Central focus of God's righteousness, which is to believe in Jesus Christ as saviour of our life. Once we believe in the son, we fulfill all expectations of God. God has made Jesus to be our righteousness, who has fulfilled all things on our behalf. He is our qualification for dwelling in the kingdom of God, for by Him we have access to all things of the Father, (Rom 5:2; Eph 2:18; Eph 3:12).

When we believe in Christ, we put on Christ (Gal 3:27) who is made for us the righteousness of God (2 Cor. 5:21). Therefore, practice righteousness by calling your self what God calls you, that you may dwell in the kingdom of God and access all provisions through Christ.

Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father, I thank you for your  word. I believe in Jesus Christ your son. I  believe in Christ Jesus You have made me the righteousness of God. Fill me with the  knowledge of your righteousness that I may commit myself to doing your will in Christ  Jesus.  I  pray I  fulfill all  your  righteous expectations as you lead me in the path of  righteousness, in Jesus name. Amen.

  • For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armour of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. EPH 6:12-13 As a Christian, it is practically impossible to prevail over the enemies of salvation without the armour of God. There are many trials that should never have overcome believes if they only had put on the armour of God. Its high time you suit yourself up in the armour of God ready for combat in the day of evil. The challenges of life are not merely caused by the people who seem to be the cause of our frustrations. In most cases the people themselves have no clue that they are as a puppet on a string, used to cause havoc in another's life. Most of our battles in life are caused and designed in the spirit realm. In the opening scripture, we are told we do not wrestle with flesh and blood . The first mistake we do in trying to solve situations is to focus our emotions and feeling on the person we think is to blame for our problem. All People are born good until the devil manipulates their thinking. No one is born a cheat or liar, people become these things when the devil and the principalities, powers and rulers of darkness and spiritual host of wickedness in heavenly places influence their thinking and derail them from the moral good of God. It is when People are derailed from the moral conduct of God that are often used by the dark forces to cause evil days or evil moments in people's live. So, Until we address the root cause of the situations, we always will be fighting the wrong battles. In the scripture we are advised to putting on the whole armour of God in readiness for these moments of combat against the forces that cause trouble in our lives. The armour of God is the might weapon the Lord has given believers to defeat the devil and his allies. Satan and his allies can not overcome this armour. The Armour of God has the truth as the belt. Truth sets free. Christ promised to give us truth that our adversaries cannot answer back, Luke 21:15. Once you stand by the truth the accuser has nothing to claim over you. Secondly, it has the breastplate of Righteousness. This is what protects the vitals, as it shelters the heart. It fortifies the heart against the attacks of Satan. This is were faith in Our God and love for the brethren is. As believer you have received the righteousness of Jesus and you are the righteousness of God. Accept what God has said over you as a believer and stand by it. Then have the readiness to witness the Gospel of peace by avoiding any provocation, or quarrel, but showing all gentleness and patience to all that you may deter all temptation and persecutions. Above all, the shield of Faith. We must be convinced, persuaded and fully assured of God's promises. Faith is all we need in the time of temptation. Also the helmet of salvation, the sword of the spirit and prayer to implore help from God against all these spiritual adversaries. Once you have done all these things, Stand in wait and see the salvation of the Lord. In whatever you find yourself in, All you have to do is stand and let the Lord prove Himself, for he always does. Prayer Dear Holy Father, I chose today to stand by your word concerning the armour of God. Grant me grace, wisdom and strength to exercise your word of putting on the whole armour of God. I stand in truth, in righteousness, in faith, in salvation with prayer to see and receive victories over my adversaries, in Jesus name, amen.
  • And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and eat. But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean. And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common . Acts 10:13 -15 How inclusive is your faith? Does it accommodate people from other Christian denominations? Are you tolerate to other believers who happen not to go to your own church? The test of our Christianity is in the unity of our faith. How open minded is your faith? In reaching out to the masses, the early church encountered radical turnaround in the way they worshiped God. Most of them having come from the Jewish background, found it unusual to worship with Gentiles (non-Jews). However, because Christ had died for the sins of the whole world, God had to open the gates of the Gospel to be preached to non-Jews, even to the entire ends of the world. In achieving this, God used animals that He had forbidden the Jews to eat, to deliver a message to Peter. In this, God illustrated to Peter that the gospel has no boundaries. Therefore, whoever was willing to hear and believe in the Gospel of Christ, was welcome to the faith. When Peter brought the news that a gentile named Cornelius had become a believer in Christ, the believers in Jerusalem were shocked and did not know how to respond. However, Peter said that God had overcome his objections and led him to Cornelius. In fact, God had given Cornelius the Holy Spirit—proof of salvation. After Peter’s colleagues heard the whole story, they praised God and accepted this new development as great news (Acts 11:2-18). As this incident shows, conflict with other Christians may arise over important faith issues. When this happens, we should guard ourselves against the bias of our initial reaction. We need to listen and speak respectfully, not jump to conclusions that promote divisive results. Have an open mind as you hear what others have to say. Consider everything in the light of the will of God revealed in Christ Jesus who earnestly prayed for the unity of all believers, John 17. Before judging the behavior of fellow believers, let them tell their side of the story. The Holy Spirit may have something important to teach you through them. Prayer Dear Heavenly Father, I thank You for Your Word. I pray I am tolerating to others and that I exercise my faith with the aim for the unity of all. Teach me to walk in oneness with others. I pray for an understanding heart with the ability to discern the perfect will of God in Christ Jesus. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen. o
  • For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. Romans 8:18 Life in this present world keeps throwing to us all kinds of complicated situations that sometimes we may feel like giving up. Today in the world circles, the truth is rare and the hunger to succeed by all means possible is at its peak. This makes it tough for Christians to stand strong on the values of their faith. However, as for you child of God, the best is yet to Come. Anything that you endure for Christ in this present time will never be in vain. There is no measure of suffering for Christ that can out weigh the Glory to be revealed. The bible calls the suffering of the present moment as light afflictions . It is these light afflictions that work for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory (2 Cor. 4:17). In everything you experience, there is a glory to be revealed in you. For this reason you ought not to let what you see to blind you from what is coming ahead of you. As a Christian, according to 2Cor. 4:18 you ought to know, that what you see presently in your life, is temporary. If you can see the problem in your life, know for sure that it is about to change, but the glory that is to be revealed in you, is eternal and it is here to stay. You can begin to experience this glory right here in this world as you begin to study God’s word. Not only are you able to see this glory, but it shall be revealed in you. You will become your full potential when this glory is revealed in ways only God can perform it in you. Consider Joseph, how he suffered for upholding the values of his faith. He was sold to slavery by his own brothers for having a dream, as the scripture says that a man’s enemies are those of his household . While in slavery, he was accused for something he did not do and was sent to prison where he stayed for more than 10 years of his life. Nevertheless, he kept holding on to the faith and when the moment came for the glory in him to be revealed, he was taken out of prison and raised to a governing position of second in command in the greatest Empire of the time. You too, ought to endure the present moments for the glory to be revealed in you. God has the best in store for you. Scripture says about this glory to be revealed that eye has not seen, nor ears heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him (1 Cor. 2:9). No one truly knows what is to be revealed in you, but as you hold on to the Lord, He will fulfil your dreams. So hold on, Your time is coming soon, for you to shine and reign with Him. The bible says. If we endure, we shall also reign with Him. If we deny Him, He also will deny us, 2 Tim. 2:12 so then, hold on, the best is yet to come Confession I believe great things wait for me. In my life all things work together for my good. And I declare my loyalty to the faith in Christ Jesus. In Jesus’ name, amen
