In the morning sow thy seed, and in the evening withhold not thine hand: for thou knowest not whether shall prosper, either this or that, or whether they both shall be alike good. Eccl 11:6
In life, nothing just happens. Everything has a reason for its occurrence. Life is a chain reaction of events. Whatever we do, will either be a cause of an event or a consequence of what happened before. Simply put, we reap what we sow and sow what we reap.
Life without seed sown has no future. The seed of anything carries the future possibilities of its kind. The seed is a capsule of potential. The least a seed could be is itself. However, when sown, the seed has the potential to multiply into numerous numbers.
Similarly, a life without sowing is uncertain of the future and it is limited to the measure of it current state with no possibilities of Progressive multiplication. On the contrary, a life of sowing seeds has a future. It has an expectation for a future harvest coming from the seeds sown.
The opening verse, admonishes us to sow seeds expecting them to prosper. Many people always wonder why they never increase. It is because they concentrate on achieving what they don’t have and neglect to maximize what they have. Everything you have in your life is a seed. It has a potential to produce the things that you want in your life.
A seed is any given thing that can make a world of difference in another person’s life. It may be your time to comfort someone or your possession. Scripture says while the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease. Gen 8:22. This amazing truth reveals that life on earth is tied to sowing and reaping. God tied this principle to the life span of the earth. As sure as the sun rises for us all, so it is that anyone who lives in the earth faces seedtime and harvest.
You either practice sowing or you don’t, but the opportunities to sow for a harvest will always come. Some people sow the wrong seed, the unwanted seed, and no wonder their harvest is no different from what they sowed. Be wise and sow good seeds. Seeds that are beneficial to you, but when sown they will exceed their present state in your future.
You see, scripture says be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man sows, that shall he also reap. Gal 6:7. God is the Lord of harvest, and be sure he will not mistake your harvest. He will give you what you sowed. Therefore, sow your good seeds that you may have a good expected future. Put a smile on someone’s face. Find a good ground, like the House of God and sow your holy seed to God to prepare your future. A life of sowing seeds has a future in waiting, therefore sow and set forth your future.
Dear Heavenly Father, I pray I take advantage of the sowing times you bring in my life. I pray I recognize the seeds I have in my life which I can sow to expect a harvest. I thank you that my harvest will not delay, but it will come to me in its due time. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
