HIS RESURRECTION IS THE EVIDENCE OF A VICTORIOUS LIFE IN YOU.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 1 Peter 1:3

It is significant that we take the resurrection of Jesus from the dead seriously. His resurrection is a significant event in the Christian faith. For without the resurrection, we have no hope in this life and beyond. If Jesus had not risen from the dead, we Christians among all people would be the most miserable.

However, knowing that Christ has risen, witnessed by many according to the scriptures (1 Cor. 15:5-8) and evidenced by the archaeological facts, we ought to be confident in the hope, which the knowledge of His resurrection gives us. Christ’s resurrection is a confirmation of our victory. If Christ had lived a good life, died, and was buried without resurrecting to life, we would still be subject to a life of Sin and failure. We would by nature, be servants of sin, without a conscious of godly goodness. But now that we know of His resurrection, it is important that you take advantage of what His resurrection means to you.

Christ resurrection was a mark of a new beginning for a new people born from the dead, He called his church. His death and resurrection were the works of building his church against the odds. The scripture says, And I say also unto thee, that thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. Mat 16:17-18. By this statement, Christ pointed to his death and resurrection as the breakout of a new people from the grave whom hell cannot hinder. As the forerunner for all who believe, Christ rose from the dead to secure our hope in Him that as he was victorious over death, we too that believe share in his victory with his new life in us.

The scripture says to us, "Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life." Rom 6:4. For this reason, as believers, we MUST see ourselves as having and living a new life, a life of victory over sin.

Notice, this victory life is lived by reckoning yourself as the scriptures say, "Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord." Rom 6:11. To reckon (logizomai in Greek) is to account, or estimate, or esteem. Meaning a believer must esteem himself as alive in God, living the victorious life of Christ.

Therefore, you ought to align or esteem yourself in your mindset to think and behave according to this life. Do not be deceived by the problems of the life of sin that you see in others and around you. Focus on the truth of what God has made you in Christ Jesus. As for you, "...sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace." Rom 6:14. So, believe and accept the resurrection of Christ as the core evidence of your changed life that you may see this life of victory revealed in you.

Dear Heavenly Father, I thank you for your word. I pray that you may use me to glorify your name on earth. I pray you reveal your will to me that I may live in it. I ask you for wisdom and understanding of your word, in Jesus' name I pray, amen.
