SALVATION MAKES YOU WORTHY BUT IT IS NOT CHEAP

For you know that God paid a ransom to save you from the empty life you inherited from your ancestors. And the ransom he paid was not mere gold or silver. He paid for you with the precious lifeblood of Christ, the sinless, spotless Lamb of God. 1 Peter 1:18-19 NTL

Many people live life as if they have no worth in themselves. They cheaply give themselves to modern embarrassing trends in search of happiness, all because they have no understanding of the value tag on their lives. As a child of God, you ought to live your life respecting your spiritual value.

The price of an item speaks of its value. The price of your redemption speaks of how valuable you are before God. That price is not of silver and gold, nor is it of any corruptible thing made by the hands of men, but it is the precious lifeblood of Jesus Christ, which redeemed you. Nothing was fit for your redemption, but the blood of Jesus, His life.

God used the premier price to redeem you. He gave His best to purchase your freedom. The man Jesus was of the highest calibre. He was unique in the way He lived His life. He was God by nature, yet he chose to live as a man. He wronged no man and did not sin, but as scripture says, God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him, Acts. 10:38. This man was the ransom God gave to save you. He is a price that cannot be attained anywhere else. No money, no man, nothing in this world, can equate to the price Jesus paid to save you. He saved you to make you worthy, but it was not cheap. By the virtue of its price, salvation has marked you as valuable as the price itself.

You must know that by believing and accepting His death and resurrection, Jesus has made you as valuable as he is. God loves you as He loves Jesus. He has called you, His child. For the scripture says behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God, 1 John 3:1. This sonship grants you the privileges of Christ. You are an heir of God and joint heirs with Christ, (Rom 8:17). In Christ you are accepted and beloved as the father love Christ, Eph 1:6; John 15:9.

Therefore, you have no reason to live life unworthily. Your credentials are out of this world. Your equivalent value is found in heaven on the right hand of the Father. Start to see yourself worthy of the father’s love. Live your life, like one highly favoured by the highest authority in the land. Salvation made you worthy of God’s favour, embrace it.

The Lord has purchased me with precious blood of Jesus Christ. I belong to God for I have been bought by the highest price. All my sins are washed away, and I have attained a place in the kingdom of God. I live a life of victory in Christ Jesus. I am a more than a conqueror. Salvation has made me worthy before God and before men, in Jesus, amen.
